God of the waters, the rivers and the flood,
Through your creation, we experience your boundless love and everlasting peace.
you gave us water to sustain our physical and spiritual life.
Despite all the good things in life,
we often come across pain, hurt,
and forces beyond our control.

When we hear of floods in different parts of this land, our hearts are shaken and ache with sorrow.
Give us the courage to be a comfort to all who live in fear and distress, and who have lost homes and possessions at this time of flooding in our land.
